Two on Top for Jean-Francois

Carol City's best lineman in 2004 is Ricky Jean-Francois, the nation's #3 defensive end prospect according to and a five-star player.

This year he's teaming up with the nation's top safety, Kenneth Phillips, to lead Carol City to a 5-1 overall record. With 4.6 speed in addition to his 6'3 245 pound frame, Jean-Francois is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. Over the last four years he has combined his dominating physical tools to garner major attention from some of the country's most outstanding D-1 football programs.

Jean-Francois denied an overall leader at this time but was quick to point out "NC State and Miami" as two programs standing out, though he did indicate that Southern California is currently recruiting him the hardest.

When asked about his favorites, Jean-Francois responded:

Miami: "I love their defense; they allow their DE's to do a lot of speed rushing and bull rushing."

NC State: "At NC State defensive linemen are allowed to come in and play right away. That way you get to learn as you go so after a few seasons you really know what you're doing."

Jean-Francois has unofficially visited Miami a few times already this season, and intends to set up officials with North Carolina State, Miami, and LSU towards the end of the year. As of right now he has no set time frame for making a decision.

He claims written offers from both of his favorites.
