"State played a real good game, but they just gave up a few big plays that made a difference in the game," he added. "It wasn't a blowout like people thought it would be or an easy win for Miami."
NC State safeties coach Manny Diaz is recruiting Brown for the Wolfpack, and he's targeted the Wilson (NC) product as a major priority.
"They are recruiting me real hard," Brown said. "I've been talking to Coach Diaz, and he's on me real hard. He's truthful with anything that I ask him."
Brown is entertaining scholarship offers from NC State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee. He may take another unofficial visit this weekend to North Carolina as they face the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night.
All of the schools are recruiting Brown as a defensive end, his preference, with North Carolina saying he can play either tight end or 'SAM' linebacker as well.
Is he ready to name a leader?
"Virginia Tech and Florida State are right now," Brown said. "I wrote down a lot of pros and cons, and those are the two that are sticking out right now.
"With Virginia Tech I've been on their campus, and I liked it. I have a good relationship with the defensive ends coach, and I like how they play their ends.
"With Florida State I have a good relationship with Coach Lilly, and I have an unofficial set up for the Florida game. I'm going to check them out."
Distance won't play a factor, ane Brown hopes to have a decision by Christmas.
"My parents are going to leave it up to me," he said. "They are going to follow me up on it, and it wouldn't matter if I left the state. Just as long as I can keep it in driving distance, and the schools I named aren't too far."
"I'm going to try and make my decision by Christmas," he added.
