Locker Room Report: Sendek Quotables

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Herb Sendek met the media following today's Fayetteville State win and here's a sampler of what he had to say.

Were you planning on missing tonight's game because you're sick?
I was playing it by ear. I didn't come to the shootaround this afternoon, and I was trying to get as well as I could for tonight. I was feeling better from the afternoon so I decided to give it a go.

I just think it was good to play. Come out and play against someone other then ourselves. We try to play as much as we can anyways.

How do you think Tony Bethel played?
Tony played well. He was the one guy who seemed to really be able to shoot the ball well. he needed that. It was important for him to be able to play in the game.

How do you plan on setting up your rotation?
It depends. Tonight we certainly wanted to play everybody. We knew going in that we were going to play everybody and keep guys fresh. I think those things will work themselves out a little bit.

Thoughts on defense:
Guys were trying. I think we had 51 first half deflections. That has to be some kind of record. Obviously we didn't give ourselves any opportunity to score more points with the way we shot free throws.

Thoughts on Ilian Evtimov:
He's doing much better right now. He's starting to do 5 on 0 work and he's starting to do skill work. We're very encouraged right now, and hopefully he'll return right around the corner.
