    Players to Watch

    NC State
Jordan Collins -- Wolfpack center had 17 points in the opener on six of seven shooting from the field. If Collins can be a force in the paint it will only open the outside for Wolfpack shooters.

    New Orleans
Jackson Atoyebi -- Physical forward paced Elon in their opening win with 20 points. He's a presence in the paint and although he's undersized Atoyebi is very productive.

    Additional Notes

  • The Elon Phoenix finished 12-18 under first-year head coach Ernie Nestor last season. The Phoenix will return nine lettermen, including eight who have appeared in the starting lineup at least once in their career.

  • Forward Jackson Atoyebi was a first-team All-Conference performer last season after averaging 16.1 points and 17.8 rebounds.

  • Elon freshman Simon Harris is the son of Wolfpack assistant coach Larry Harris.

  • Sophomore Chris Chalko came off the bench to provide a spark for the Phoenix. Chalko connected on seven of nine field goals from the field for 17 points in just 17 minutes of action.
