'I Fit in Real Good at State'

New Bern (NC) offensive lineman Julian Williams suffered a knee injury in last year's state championship game, and his recruitment suffered early because of it.

However, things have changed as he's proven to be healthy and teams are still sending scholarship offers his way.

This past weekend he took an official visit to one of his favorites, Virginia Tech, and was impressed with what he saw from the Hokies

"It went pretty good," Julian Williams said. "I went to the game against Virginia, and I hung out with some of the players on Saturday night. It was a good one."

After completing his first official, Williams prepares for a trip to Raleigh this weekend and has also set a visit up with North Carolina.

"I am going to State this weekend, and I set one up with UNC today," he said. "I'll be going to Carolina on the 21st of January. I haven't set anymore up yet."

Williams, who has offers from NC State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and East Carolina, is looking forward to his visit to NC State.

"I've been wanting to take that visit right there," he said. "I like the coaches, and I fit in real good at State."

Throughout the process Williams has stated that NC State's been his favorite, but is claiming to now be open to all his suitors. However, some analysts still believe the Wolfpack will be tough to beat.

"I think people feel State leads because they were the first to offer me and things like that," Williams said. "That's probably why they think that."

After his trip to NC State, Williams will play in the annual North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl.

"I think that's a good game to play in," he said. "We get to raise money for disabled children by playing in a football game."

Williams expects to take all of his official visits before announcing his decision.
