LB Avery Vogt (6-0, 225 pounds, 4.6-seconds in the 40) from Coral Reef High School in Miami, Fla burst onto the scenes as a major Wolfpack target several weeks ago and this weekend, had a chance to see the NC State program up close.
"It was great at State," said Vogt. "We had a good time and I really liked it a lot. The team really seemed like family and they've got a lot of boys from down south. I really felt like I could fit in there and I'd have a good opportunity to play. John Dunlap was my host."
Although Vogt didn't make a commitment to the Pack just yet, he did indicate that State is high atop his wish list currently.
" NC State is way up there right now," he said. "I'd say they are in my top two with West Virginia or maybe Ohio State."
Don't look for the Pack to ease up anytime soon as Vogt still has several visits on the horizon.
"Next weekend I'm going to West Virginia and then in January, I'm going to Rutgers and Ohio State."
Vogt projects as a full academic qualifier.
