Official Visit Weekend Preview

There's a talented cast of characters headed to Raleigh this weekend, and we preview them all.

This is another huge weekend for NC State and the list is loaded with many of the nation's very best prospects. Pack Pride breaks down the Wolfpack's guests and where State stands with each.

QB Jarrett Brown (6-3, 192 pounds, 4.53/40) Palm Beach Lakes HS, W Palm Beach, Fla
Prospect Ranking...3-star prospect...NCS Recruiter...Doc Holliday

Notes...WVU commit that Coach Holliday has stayed on top of. Brown says that he's still committed to West Virginia, but NC State appears to have a shot should they impress him during his stay in Raleigh.

OL Simon Codrington (6-5, 265 pounds, 5.0/40) S. Miami (Fla) High School
Prospect Ranking....3-star prospect....No. 7 OL in Florida by Orlando Sentinel....NCS Recruiter........Doc Holliday

Notes...Odds of a Pack verbal this weekend are low although Codrington made an unofficial visit to State earlier this year and he has named the Pack his fave on a couple of occasions. Florida State and Florida are getting a heavy look as well and pose the main threat.

RB Conredge Collins (6-0, 220 pounds, 4.6/40) Pace High School, Miami, Fla
Prospect Ranking...3-star prospect...NCS Recruiter...Doc Holliday

Notes...Mother lives in Durham. Considered a heavy lean to Miami and Florida State but is primarily looking at schools which like him as a RB which could hurt the Canes. Pack needs a blowout visit to have a chance.

QB Mike Greco (6-3, 205 pounds, 4.4/40) Cardinal Gibbons HS, Ft Lauderdale, Fla
Prospect Ranking...3-star prospect...No. 42 player in Florida by Recruiter........Doc Holliday

Notes....Greco blew up at NCS's camp and came away with an offer. State took the lead for his services with Auburn and Rutgers nipping at their heels. Many feel either Miami or Florida State will ultimately offer depending on how things shake out with their QB prospects. Should that happen then that team would most likely become State's stiffest competition....Update...Verbal Commitment...Update...Missed first two games due to broken knuckle but threw 25-yard TD pass in first game back...Rating....100...NCS Commit

CB Jordan Hemby (5-11, 175 pounds, 4.4/40) Freedom High School, Morganton, NC
Prospect Ranking....No. 26 player in NC...NCS Recruiter........Todd Stroud

Notes....Has been tough to read and odds of a State commit this weekend are probably low. Considering Virginia Tech and UNC as well.

WR Geron James (6-4, 180 pounds, 4.5 in the 40) Ashley High School, Wilmington, NC
Prospect Ranking...3-star prospect and No. 32 player in NC by SuperPrep...NCS Recruiter...Greg Williams

Notes...Friend and teammate Levin Neal committed to State last week and there's potential for James to follow suit this weekend. He's also looking at North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Maryland.

DT Jeffrey Owens (6-2, 275 pounds, 4.9/40) Plantation (Fla) High School
Prospect Ranking....4-star prospect....NCS Recruiter...Doc Holliday

Notes...Heavy Florida State/Miami lean. Camped at State over the summer but odds are against NC State landing Owens. He's scheduled to visit this weekend, but rumors are floating around that he may visit Virginia Tech.

S Kenneth Phillips (6-2, 195 pounds, 4.5/40) Miami (Fla) Carol City High School
Prospect Ranking....5-star prospect....NCS Recruiter...Doc Holliday

Notes...Heavy Florida State/Miami lean. Odds are very slim that Phillips will sign with NC State.

CB Knowledge Timmons (5-10, 175 pounds, 4.4 in the 40) William Penn HS, York, Pa
Prospect Ranking...Unranked...NCS Recruiter...Greg Williams

Notes...Favored NC State a couple weeks ago, favored BC after visit to Boston College and now says it will be tough to over come Maryland after visiting the Terps this weekend. Sun-Tue visit is not advantageous for the Pack in our opinion.

DE Willie Young (6-5, 205 pounds, 4.6 in the 40) Hargrave Military Academy
Prospect Ranking....4-star recruit out of high school...NCS Recruiter...Doc Holliday

Notes...Thin but blistering quick and tenacious defensive end. Scouts believe Young has the frame to add considerable weight...Rating...100...NCS Commit

LB Brent Davis (6-2, 190 pounds, 4.5 in the 40) Mainland High School, Daytona Beach, Fla
Prospect Ranking...2-star prospect...NCS Recruiter...Todd Stroud

Notes...Plays for one of the top programs in Florida and had big stats as a senior. Smallish but fast OLB prospect.

ATH Kyle Newell (6-4, 225 pounds, 4.55 in the 40) Bethlehem (PA) Catholic HS
Prospect Ranking...4-star prospect...NCS Recruiter...Greg Williams

Notes...Appears to be favoring Virginia and Maryland currently. However, it's been tough to get a read on Newell so this could be a situation where anything is possible. Newell's teammate John Bedics committed to NC State last year.

DT Ted Larsen (6-3, 260 pounds, 4.7 in the 40) Palm Harbor (FLA) High School
Prospect Ranking...Unranked...NCS Recruiter...Todd Stroud

Notes...Had a monster senior season. Makes up for lack of size with toughness and quickness. Larsen lists offers from NC State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi.

WR Terrell Skinner (6-3, 195 pounds, 4.5 in the 40) Boca Ciega High School, Gulfport, Fla
Prospect Ranking...2-star prospect...NCS Recruiter...Todd Stroud

Notes...One of Florida's best kept secrets. Plays QB but projects as a WR in college. Committed to UCF earlier this year and has had a super senior season.

WR Kyle Johnson (6-2, 180 pounds, 4.4 in the 40) Hopewell (NC) High School
Prospect Ranking....Unrated....NCS Recruiter...Dick Portee

Notes...Speedy WR from NC timed at 4.38-seconds in the 40 at the Shrine Bowl Combine.
