Terps Still the Leaders?

York (Pa.) William Penn star Knowledge Timmons visited South Carolina and NC State this weekend, and Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

"They both were alright," Knowledge Timmons said of his visits. "South Carolina was a good visit. I liked the campus and everything.

"NC State was the same. I liked the campus and the facilities there."

Timmons, who measures 5'10 and 175 pounds, started sending out his senior tape this winter and it paid off as several schools sent him a written scholarship. Progams like Penn State, West Virginia, Indiana, Maryland, Boston College, Minnesota, South Carolina, NC State, and UCONN have all offered him as a cornerback, but he's already narrowed his list down to what he believes to be his final five schools.

After tripping to Boston College and Maryland the past couple of weeks, did NC State and USC try to secure a verbal commitment?

"South Carolina kind of wanted me to commit," Timmons said. "They were saying that I'd be a good addition to the team. NC State didn't really press me to commit, but they said pretty much the same thing."

Heading into the weekend, Timmons had Maryland listed as his leader. Although he admits the Terps still lead, it sounds like the other schools are still very much in the hunt.

"Well, right now I'm leaning towards Maryland," Timmons said. "But, everyone's pretty much the same. At Maryland my people can come down and see me at the games, and it's a good location. The academics are good too."

"I'm not sure yet if I'll take any more visits," he added. "I want to decide by Christmas, so now I may just go ahead and decide on what school I want to go to."

Timmons is scheduled to visit Minnesota, but he may make a decision without taking that visit.
