Sumter, South Carolina prospect J.C. Neal saw his stock soar at the Shrine Bowl this year when he caught two interceptions and brought home a MVP trophy. On the recruiting front, a decision now apperas to be just a few weeks away.

The 6-1, 185 pound prospect has enjoyed a break from recruiting over the holidays. "I've had a good holiday. I've just been relaxing. I haven't thought too much about my decision. I've just enjoyed the break," Neal told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

The Shrine Bowl standout continues to list North Carolina State as his leader. "North Carolina State is still the leader. After State, I'm looking at Virginia Tech, Maryland, South Carolina and Clemson," added Neal.

The N.C. State Wolfpack appears to have a big lead as the Lakewood High star closes on his decision.

"I'm leaning hard towards State," said Neal. "They are recruiting me as an athlete so I will play everywhere. They have talked about putting me in the slot receiver where I can catch the ball and also move to the backfield on some plays. They have also talked about putting me in the secondary on 3rd downs.

"I think I will probably make my decision after my State visit. By the middle of January I will probably make my decision."

Neal will visit South Carolina on January 7 and North Carolina State on the 14th. His official visit with Clemson is currently scheduled for January 21.
