Geron James of Wilmington (N.C.) Ashley had expected to be through with his recruitment by week's end. However, the pressures of recruiting have forced the Scout.com two-star wide receiver to alter his plans.

"I don't really know right now," remarked James. "I did say that [I would commit to N.C. State soon], but I'm thinking I might have to wait until Signing Day. I still want to go up to Virginia Tech before I decide, but I don't know."

One school James won't be visiting is North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 175-pounder canceled his original official visit scheduled with the Tar Heels back in December. He had planned to reschedule the trip, but has since decided to cut UNC from consideration leaving a two-way battle between ACC rivals N.C. State and Virginia Tech. "Yea it's between North Carolina State and Virginia Tech," stated James. "N.C. State is still my leader. I already been to N.C. State, and on my official [visit] they showed me a good time and everything. I really got to know all the coaches, that's really what's putting them on the top right now. As a matter of fact the recruiting class, that's what I'm really amazed with right now."

Speaking of recruiting classes, part of the Wolfpack's current class of 2005 is James's high school teammate Levin Neal. However, Neal isn't helping the N.C. State coaching staff with their recruiting efforts with James.

James will visit Virginia Tech on January 28th.
