'I Just Felt Comfortable'

NC State's amazing recruiting weekend isn't over yet as New Bern offensive tackle Julian Williams has announced that he will play for the Wolfpack.

"I just felt comfortable," Julian Williams told Pack Pride. "I told coach Amato before I left from the visit that I was coming, and he was happy about it.

"I knew I was going to go there the whole time, so I figured it was time go ahead and commit."

Williams chose the Wolfpack over offers from East Carolina, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, UNC, Maryland, and Notre Dame among others.

Today his teammate, athlete Montario Hardesty, committed to North Carolina, and it looks like the two buddies are already feeling the NC State-North Carolina rivalry.

"I don't even want to comment on that," Williams said when asked about Hardesty's decision. "All I know is we're already talking trash to each other. I told him he better be ready to get his butt kicked every year."

Williams did say that blocking for running backs like Toney Baker, Andre Brown, Darrell Blackman, and Bobby Washington played a role in decision.

"It mattered some," he said. "I've seen highlights of Toney Baker, and he runs hard. Plus, they got Andre Brown coming too. I played against him last year, and he's real good."

Today Notre Dame visited Williams in hopes of landing an official visit on the 21st of January. Will he take the trip?

"As of right now I'm visiting Notre Dame on the 21st of January," Williams said. "But, I'm committed to NC State."

Williams is the third in-state offensive lineman to commit to NC State today, joining Fayetteville (NC) products Doug Palmer and Curtis Crouch.
