McCauley Breaks 2,000 Point Mark

North Carolina State signee Ben McCauley passed the 2,000 point mark with 33 points in Yough High School's 64-44 victory against visiting Indiana, Friday.

McCauley, who had 2,013 points through Friday's game, became the 20th player in WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) history to score 2,000 points. Duquesne alum Tom Pipkins holds the WPIAL record; he scored 2,828 points during his prep career at Valley H.S.

Yough is 14-7 so far this season with three regular season games remaining. The Cougars are 10-2 in WPIAL Class AAA Section 3, tied for first with Greensburg Salem and Laurel Highlands.

Signee Notables: NC State signee Brandon Costner has been selected to play in this year's Roundball Classic, the national all-star game played March 22 at Chicago's United Center.

The Wolfpack's other signee, guard Courtney Fells, returned to the floor this weekend after missing a couple of games due to a concussion. Fells scored 20 points for his Shannon (Ms.) High squad, as they defeated Itawamba 81-50.
