Brown Commits!

Three-star lineman Quinton Brown has reached a decision, and the Florida standout will be leaving the state.

Quinton Brown, a 6'6 defensive lineman from Orlando (Fl.) Edgewater High School, has committed to NC State.

"Quinton's going to North Carolina State," coach Bill Gierke told Pack Pride. "I'm about to call the local paper here and tell them as well.

"They recruited him as a defensive lineman, and that's where he wants to play. Quinton's a 6'6 238-pound kid and that's probably where I should have played him, but he was valuable for us on offense.

"He's got a frame to put on so much more weight, and he runs real well for a big guy. Linemen are a premium these days, and North Carolina State's getting a good one."

Brown chose the Wolfpack over offers from Florida State, Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia among others.

NC State assistant Todd Stroud recruited Brown for the Wolfpack, and he will also serve as his position coach. NC State was the only program recruiting Brown exclusively for the defensive line. Did that play a role in his decision?

"Yes, it did and coach Stroud is a great guy," Coach Gierke said. "I've known Todd a long time, and he's a great recruiter for North Carolina State."

Quinton Brown is the 24th known commitment to NC State. We'll have more from him tonight on his decision to attend NC State.
