Many teams noticed David Erby last season, especially after he helped lead his Rock Hill (S.C.) team to a Big 16 state championship while making 106 tackles with 22 for a loss. Recruiting is starting to pick up quickly as the May evaluation period comes closer.

"It is going pretty good; I went up to NC State on Saturday and they were talking about their student-athletes and all that," said the 5-foot-11, 195 pounder.

Erby, who plays linebacker in high school but will make the transition over to strong safety in college, says that the Wolfpack has offered but he wants to take his time in recruiting.

"I'm also looking at UNC, South Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia Tech. I'm going to wait until I go visit all the schools after the season before I commit."

He will also camp at NC State and Virginia Tech this summer.

Erby is an athletic, but gritty player from his linebacking position. He has great pursuit going after the ball, and normallly makes the right read on his first step of reading the play.
