Costner To Miss Roundball Classic

NC State signee Brandon Costner will miss tonight's Roundball Classic because his Seton Hall Prep squad will be playing its final game of the season Wednesday night.

"Brandon's not playing in the Roundball," Seton Hall Prep head coach Bob Farrell said. "We're playing our final game tomorrow night. He's just going to now play in the McDonald's game."

Seton Hall Prep (29-1) will face St. Patrick's (28-3) in the finals of the Tournament of Champions. St. Patrick's features two of the nation's top underclassemen in forward Derrick Caracter and point guard Corey Fisher, an NC State target.

St. Patrick's advanced to the finals of the Tournament of Champions after defeating Haddonfield 76-61 in the semifinals, behind Fisher's 23 points.

Brandon Costner led the way for Seton Hall Prep in their 74-37 semifinal win over Atlantic City. The talented combo forward finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds while drilling six 3-pointers in the victory.

Because the Wolfpack signee will miss the Roundball Classic, he's now eligible to play in another all-star game if he chooses to do so. The Commonwealth Classic, held April 1st in Richmond, Virginia, may have a spot open and could extend an invitation to Costner in the near future.

Courtney Fells, another NC State signee, has already announced that he will play in the Commonwealth Classic while the Wolfpack's final pledge, Ben McCauley, will be playing in the Capital Classic.
