Kushner- "Of course I played basketball, and we made it to the state playoffs. I think I averaged around 7 points per game and about 8 or 9 rebounds a game. I've started back lifting, and I'm doing that five times a week."

When do you plan to arrive at NC State?

Kushner- "I've got to check again with coach Williams, but I plan to be there sometime in July."

When it came time to decide on your future college, what was the number one reason you selected NC State?

Kushner- "I just felt comfortable there, and I liked the direction that the team is going. Plus, John (Bedics) is there and Kyle (Newell) is coming, and I knew those guys wouldn't lead me wrong."

What was your first impression when you met coach Amato?

Kushner- "He's a great guy, and I felt comfortable with him. He could relate to me because we're from the same area."

Kushner- "Michael Strahan"

What is your favorite subject in school?

Kushner- "I'm trying to work on my speed and just get as fast as I can. I'm at 250 pounds now, and I'm running a 4.7 (40-yard dash). I'm going to start at defensive end and then the coaches are going to see how I fill out to see if I'm going to move."

If you hadn't selected NC State, who would your next choice have been?

Kushner- "Boston College, I really liked the recruiting coach for them, and we got along well. But I felt like they waited too long to get on me, and I didn't like that. They were trying to get me to cancel my visit to State and go up there instead."
