The trophy case is getting overcrowded at N.C. State Athletics Department office, thanks to the Wolfpack cheerleading squad. The team has won more national champioships than any other varsity sport at N.C. State. After a second-place finish at nationals in 2004, this years team said it wants to bring home its fifth national title trophy. "The pressure is on. Everyone expects a lot out of us," sophomore Matt Goto said. "We have a really good program here. We're out there to win, we're confident we can do it and this year we're going to prove it to everyone." Read More

Lorenzo Charles became a part of college basketball history when his last-second dunk gave North Carolina State a 54-52 upset over Houston in the 1983 title game. It also will become a story that never dies. Just ask Lorenzo Charles. Today marks the 22nd anniversary of Charles forever having his name etched in college basketball history. Charles, 41, was just a 19-year-old sophomore at North Carolina State when his dunk with time running out gave the Wolfpack at 54-52 win against Houston on April 4, 1983, in Albuquerque, N.M.
