Sherrill fighting for minutes

Scooter Sherrill has worked hard to get playing time. His recent play has earned him a prominent role in his sophomore season. Greg Doyle, from the Charlotte Observer has a great update on Scooter's progress as a NC State player.

N.C. State was waiting, and Scooter Sherrill was late.

He sprinted out a rear exit of West Rowan High, through the parking lot and onto the track. His basketball teammates were limbering up for their annual preseason mile run, and N.C. State assistant coach Sean Miller was waiting. He'd heard about Sherrill, a 6-foot-3 junior.

It was time to see.
