TE Grayson Downs put together an impressive junior year and that's resulted in recruiting interest from a number of schools- including NC State.

6-3, 235 pounds, 4.8-seconds in the 40-yard dash

Mount Pleasant (NC) High School

Grayson Downs is a solid pass-catching TE that was one of North Carolina's most productive in 2004. On the year he hauled in 30 catches for 342 yards and three touchdowns en route to all-conference honors. He also earned all-conference honors in basketball. Downs was on hand for NC State's junior day and with the Pack's need at TE, will likely be on State's radar all year.

What Downs is looking for in a school- "I'm looking for a place where I can get a great education and succeed in my football career also."

Favorite team growing up- "UNC, because my dad really likes them and that's who I always had to watch with him."

Any family members that attended college- Mother and father attended Pfeiffer College. Sister attends UNC-Charlotte

Summer camp plans- Virginia Tech Elite camp

What Downs likes about NC State- "I have always liked NC State and the football program has stood out to me since I was in middle school. Coach Portee has contacted my coach about coming to see me in a week or two."
