Costner will be in-studio to discuss his decision to sign with NC State and his future in Raleigh while the Fox Sports Net South crew will analyze Fells and his potential impact on the Wolfpack program.
After earning all-state honors the previous year, Costner was named Associated Press New Jersey state player of the year as he averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in leading Seton Hall Prep (30-1) to a state title. He scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the 48-40 victory over Christian Brothers Academy. Costner also led the Pirates, ranked sixth nationally by USA Today, to a 63-60 victory over St. Patrick's in the Tournament of Champions. The Wolfpack signee scored 31 points and snatched ten boards in the win.
While earning player of the year honors, Costner also was selected first-team all-state for the second straight season, Gatorade state player of the year, third-team Parade All-American, and a 2005 McDonald's All-American.
He inked with NC State in November after seriously considering Kansas, UCONN, Seton Hall, and Michigan among others.
Courtney Fells, a 6'6 wing from Mississippi, was named Gatorade State Player of the Year after an outstanding senior season for Shannon High School, where he averaged 23.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists.
He was also named first-team all-state and was the 2005 Commonwealth Classic MVP after scoring 27 points and grabbing seven boards.
A consensus top 50 prospect, Fells inked with NC State last November after entertaining offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, and Alabama among others.
Both prospects join Pennsylvania forward Ben McCauley in NC State's 2005 recruiting class. Tonight's show will air on Fox Sports Net South at 6:30 pm. Check your local listings for availability.
