How many among us actually thought at the beginning of this season the Pack would be guaranteed no worse than a tie for 3rd in the ACC? My guess would be not too many. I thought at the beginning of the season we would at best be 7-9. Now we have an opportunity to finish 10-6 if we can win at the Joel this weekend. I know there are many of my Wolfpack brethren who want a new coach and, in some sick, twisted way, were hoping for another disappointing year. Guys, I know you were disappointed, but at the same time, you have to have a smile on your face to see our team back in the Top 3. Suck it up and admit that Coach Sendek has done a great job this year.
To the Coach
Coach Sendek, thank you for a fine season this year. You were under tremendous pressure to right the ship, and you had to do it with a group that was made up mostly of underclassmen. You put together one of the best State teams in many years, and did it under a scrutiny that few previous coaches have had to face. Keep up the good work! I know I'll be cheering for you come March Madness!!!!
I must say I feel for Josh Howard. Calling a timeout when none were left cost Wake a chance to beat one of the best-ever Maryland teams at Cole Fieldhouse. You are being made a scapegoat, but if you hadn't played the game you played, Wake would not have been given the chance to win anyway. Tough break, and the Pack fan in me says Thanks!
I must give mad props to The UNC-CH Tarheels for winning their eighth game of the season, and it's only February 28th! At least you guys held on to one streak! *snicker*
I made the pilgrimage to Rockingham Speedway this past Sunday to see the Subway 400. It was shocking to see Matt Kenseth come away with the win, but I have to wonder why NASCAR can't show some consistency. I paid $80 to see a race that they let finish under caution when it should have been red flagged to later finish under green. For shame NASCAR! And, HAHA Marlin. You lost again!
