After exiting from the ACC Tournament last week with losses to Virginia and Clemson, N.C. State (40-17, 17-13 ACC) will look to rebound this Friday at 7 p.m. against No.3-seed Creighton (46-15) in the NCAA Lincoln,Neb. Regional. Second-seed State earned its third straight invitation to the NCAA Tournament and will be lead by the probable pitching rotation of freshman Andrew Brackman (4-0, 1.38), senior Phil Davidson (6-3, 4.16) and sophomore Gib Hobson (6-3, 5.11).

"We're very excited about the opportunity to play in the regional at Nebraska," State coach Elliot Avent said. It was the wrong way to start a drive to the NCAA Tournament. Some teams might've crumbled. "We didn't press the panic button," said North Carolina State standout relief pitcher Joey Devine, referring to the Wolfpack's 3-6 record in the early stages of the Atlantic Coast Conference season. "It was tough, but we knew how good this team could be." North Carolina State has since won 25 of 34 games — including seven straight series in the conference — and finds itself in the NCAA field as a No. 2 seed in the regional that will be played this weekend at Haymarket Park.
