Following a brief speech by Christ The King head coach Bob Oliva, star guard Larry Davis pulled an NC State hat out of a bag and chose to run with the Wolfpack. He committed to NC State over Villanova and Pittsburgh, while also considering offers from UConn, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Florida among others.

Several local media outlets attended the press conference along with the Davis family and the Christ The King coaching staff.

"The weather down there is beautiful. And the coaching staff is a great coaching staff. The way I feel about them is the way they feel about me."

"They love me down there, and they want me down there."

"The RBC Center is beautiful. It's the best arena I have ever been in my life."

"The players I met down there, Gavin Grant... Cedric Simmons. They were fun to be with. I had a lot of fun. The facilities are beautiful to play in. I went to the gym morning and night. I am the type of player who loves to be in the gym. So I am going to be there all the time."

"Their system is a perfect fit for me. They run five out, and everybody on the court can pass and shoot. The way I play I like to make my teammates around me better, and I hope they can make me better in the process. I like to go to the basket, shoot, and pull up. They shoot the three too, and I am trying to work on that right now. I just think I can be the perfect fit for that type of program."

"Pittsburgh has been there from the start. Coach Barry is a great guy. He did everything for me. He has been looking at me since the ninth grade. Their program is a great program to be in. But with all those guards and especially the weather conditions in Pittsburgh I didn't think I would like to go there."

"Jay Wright is a great guy. I spoke to him a lot on the phone. But I thought the Villanova campus was too small for me. I wanted a place because I could learn about different ethnic backgrounds. The dorms there weren't great, but I just didn't feel it was the right fit. Playing wise, that would have been the best fit because I would have had the most chance to come in as a freshman and start."

Larry Davis was all smiles just after announcing for North Carolina State on Monday afternoon in front of a small gathering of media and family.
