7/13/05: Pack Pride Basketball Recruiting Board

After landing one of the top recruiting classes in 2005, the NC State Wolfpack are again hard at work on the recruiting trail. With four scholarships available, the Wolfpack coaching staff has plenty of options to pursue in the loaded '06 class.

The Pack Pride Recruiting Board is in no way connected with the NC State coaching staff. This board is for our readers to remain updated with the recruitment of players who have shown an interest in NC State. Players are listed according to their interest in NC State through various media outlets.

Remember, it is still very early in the recruiting process and the board will change throughout the summer as new players emerge and commitments are made.

  • Projected 2006-07 NC State Roster

    G Larry Davis

    Hometown: New York, NY

    Vitals: 6-3/175/14 PPG

Schools of Interest: NC STATE VERBAL

Davis Profile: Larry has already scheduled three official visits, as he's checking out NC State (6/3), Pittsburgh (6/10), and Villanova (6/16). He could be looking to decide soon and look for NC State to try and secure a verbal commitment while Davis is in Raleigh. He's an outstanding combo guard prospect that would really fit NC State's offensive system.UPDATE: 6/7 -- Larry verbaled to NC State after visiting the Wolfpack last weekend.

    G Greivis Vasquez

    Hometown: Rockville, Maryland

    Vitals: 6-5/170/---

Schools of Interest: NC State (Offer), Boston College, Maryland, Gonzaga

Vasquez Profile: Greivis is a high-energy prospect who is being molded into a point guard by Stu Vetter and Montrose Christian. A native of Venezuela, Vasquez already has offers from NC State, Maryland, Gonzaga, and Boston College. He's athletic, can handle, and can really shoot the basketball. As with most Montrose players, don't look for Greivis to make an early decision.UPDATE: 6/7 -- Vasquez is a player to watch, as he fits what NC State's looking for at the guard spot. Maryland is strong in his recruitment. UPDATE: 7/13 --NC State remains strongly in the mix and some feel they co-lead with Maryland.

    PG/SG Matt Bouldin

    Hometown: Highlands Ranch, Colorado

    Vitals: 6-4/190/---

Schools of Interest: NC State (Offer), Gonzaga, Boston College, Notre Dame, Cal

Bouldin Profile: Bouldin recently picked up an offer from NC State and appears to be a major priority. Cal and Gonzaga have been in the mix for a long time and both programs will provide stiff competition for the Wolfpack.

    G Jerome Dyson

    Hometown: Potomac, Maryland

    Vitals: 6-3/180/31 PPG

Schools of Interest: NC State, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Maryland, Purdue, UCONN, Florida

Dyson Profile: Jerome is a new name on the radar and he visited NC State unofficially earlier in June. He is capable of playing both guard spots and is known as an explosive scorer. His recruitment is just now starting to begin after he spent the past two months in Spain studying abroad. UPDATE: 7/13 -- Dyson has picked up offers from Maryland and Boston College while NC State and others are still evaluating him.

    SG JaJuan Jones

    Hometown: Douglasville, Georgia

    Vitals: 6-5/175/---

Schools of Interest: NC State, Cincy, Georgia

Jones Profile: Jones burst on the scene at the Kingswood Classic and is a bonafide high-major prospect. He has strong scoring tools and is a very good passer who can play the point or shooting guard positions. His recruitment has yet to really start, as more teams will watch him play this summer. NC State visited Jones during the evaluation period and he's certainly on the radar. UPDATE: 6/7 -- Information has been tough to find on Jones, who has slowed his recruitment considerably. He has a chance to improve his stock at the major shoe camps. UPDATE: 7/13 -- Jones is still listing NC State, with Cincy holding the edge.

    F Dan Werner

    Hometown: Lincroft, New Jersey

    Vitals: 6-7/220/16 PPG

Schools of Interest: NC STATE VERBAL

Werner Profile: Dan committed to NC State in May after considering offers from West Virginia, Notre Dame, Georgetown, and Rutgers among others. He'll play the 3/4 positions for the Wolfpack and is very familiar with their offensive system as his high school, Christian Brothers Academy, runs the same system.
