Wide Receiver/Tight End Recruiting Board
Pack Pride breaks down the known prospects on NC State's WR/TE recruiting board. As always, this list is compiled by the staff at Pack Pride and is in no way connected with any actual recruiting list of the NC State coaching staff.
TE John Lubischer (6-4, 250 pounds, 4.8-seconds in the 40) Boca Raton (Fl) High School
Stats- Had 40 tackles and two sacks on defense and 110 yards receiving on six catches on offense.
Offers- NC State and Duke
NC State Visit- Official visit set for December
Schools under consideration- NC State, Duke, Boston College, South Carolina
Inside Track- Lubischer is definitely a prospect that State could land. Duke and State head up his favorites and an early commit wouldn't be surprising.
TE Andy Miller (6-6, 250 pounds, 4.9-seconds in the 40) Trinity High School, Washington, Pa
Stats- Had 15 receptions for 200 yards and two scores as a junior
Offers- Illinois, Indiana, Eastern Michigan and Toledo
NC State Visit- None scheduled currently
Schools under consideration- Illinois, NC State, Indiana, Pittsburgh
Inside Track- Hard to say at this point as we're not completely sure of State's interest level in Miller and he's shied away from naming any favorites.
WR LaMarcus Bond (5-9, 185 pounds, 4.4-seconds in the 40) Hertford County High School, Ahoskie, NC
Stats- rushed for 922 yards and 18 touchdowns while hauling in 16 passes for 394 yards and five TD's
Offers- NC State, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Duke, East Carolina and Clemson
NC State Visit- Has visited State previously and also camped with the Pack
Schools under consideration- Favors NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech
Inside Track- It would appear that NC State may hold the inside track but anything is certainly possible in recruiting. Bond would most likely be a slot receiver for NC State.
WR Owen Spencer (6-3, 165 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40) N Brunswick High School, Leland, NC
Stats- Had 30 catches for 800 yards and 13 TD's as a junior.
Offers- NC State and Virginia Tech
NC State Visit- Has camped at State
Schools under consideration- Looking at East Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech and Virginia
Inside Track- It's hard to see NC State missing on Spencer as things stand now.
WR Preston Parker (6-0, 180 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40) Atlantic High School, Delray Beach, Fla
Stats- Parker snagged 23 receptions for 450 yards and seven scores as a junior.
Offers- Around a dozen offers including NC State, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Alabama, Louisville and Auburn
NC State Visit- No known visit planned. Pack will need to snag an official visit later in the year.
Schools under consideration- Favors Florida State, Miami, NC State and Louisville
Inside Track- As always, should the Canes decide to offer, getting him out of the Sunshine State could prove tough. Outside of the Canes, look for Florida State to become the team to beat.
WR Andrey Baskin (6-9, 190 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40) Woodrow Wilson High School, Camden, NJ
Stats- Baskin had 31 catches for eight touchdowns as a junior. Yardage is unknown.
Offers- Better than a dozen including NC State, Iowa, Syracuse, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia and Boston College
NC State Visit- Plans to visit for the Virginia Tech game in September.
Schools under consideration- Currently favors Syracuse, Iowa, NC State and Tennessee
Inside Track- Syracuse may hold a slight lead although Baskin has denied any specific favorite. Any of Baskin's four favorites could potentially land him.
WR Greg Mathews (6-2, 190 pounds, 4.55-seconds in the 40) Edgewater High School, Orlando, Fla
Stats- Had 26 receptions for 397 yards and four scores as a junior.
Offers- Numerous offers including Miami, Michigan, NC State and others
NC State Visit- Was considering camping at State this summer
Schools under consideration- Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, NC State, LSU and Oklahmoa
Inside Track- Probably Miami. If their offer is legit, it will be difficult to snag him. Minus a Canes' offer, the Pack should get a visit and could become a player with former teammate, Quinten Brown already with the Wolfpack.
WR Deunta Williams (6-3, 195 pounds, 4.45-seconds in the 40) White Oak High School, Jacksonville, NC
Stats- Had 16 receptions for 400 yards and 11 TD's as a junior. Collected seven interceptions on defense.
Offers- UNC, NC State, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina and Clemson
NC State Visit- Scheduled to camp at State this summer and has visited unofficially previously
Schools under consideration- UNC and NC State appear to be top two
Inside Track- At one point, Williams appeared to be a lock for UNC. As we pointed out, we thought the longer his recruiting went, the better NC State's chances may be. At this point it would appear to be a tossup and a commitment to either school would not be surprising.
WR Javon Brumsey (6-5, 185 pounds, 4.5-seconds in the 40) Northeastern High School, Elizabeth City, NC
Stats- had 64 receptions for 1,098 yards and seven scores as a junior
Offers- East Carolina
NC State Visit- none scheduled
Schools under consideration- Right now, Brumsey favors East Carolina, NC State, UNC and Virginia Tech
Inside Track- Brumsey grew up a UNC fan so an offer from the Heels could lead him to Chapel Hill.
