With the spring and summer camps and combines now in the rear view mirror, Pack Pride has evaluated dozens of in-state prospects and formulated our initial top 50 listing. Today we highlight picks 41-50.

50. DT Tyler Bullard...6-0, 300 pounds, 5.0 in the 40 (combine timed)...Charlotte (NC) Catholic High School

Offers...none...Schools...UNC, Wake Forest, Richmond, Vanderbilt, Cornell...Leader...UNC

Notes...One of North Carolina's better DT prospects but most likely a borderline division one prospect. Could elect to walk on at a D-1 school or could come away with some D-2 offers. Wake Forest may be a school that gives him a serious look later in the year.

NC State connection...Bullard was reportedly in attendance at the Wolfpack's spring game but their current interest level appears low.

49. RB Remene Alston...5-8, 180 pounds, 4.4 in the 40...Page High School...Greensboro, NC

Offers...East Carolina and Kentucky...Schools...Kentucky, UNC, Georgia Tech, Maryland, East Carolina...Leader...Kentucky

Notes...Smallish back that rushed for 1,200 yards last year. Has elusiveness but size may be a concern for colleges. Unsure of validity of offers but Kentucky is reportedly recruiting the hardest.

NC State connection...There had been reports that NC State had offered but we're fairly sure that is not the case.

48. RB Michael Angram...5-8, 160 pounds, 4.46 in the 40 (combine timed)...E Henderson High School...Hendersonville, NC

Offers...Appalachian State and Eastern Kentucky...Schools...Virginia, UNC, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech...Leader...Wake Forest and UNC

Notes...One of western North Carolina's most exciting Friday night stars. Rushed for better than 2,000 yards as a junior and is slippery quick. However, size may greatly limit interest from major division one schools.

NC State connection...The Wolfpack's interest level appears to be low.

47. ATH Dekota Marshall...6-0, 180 pounds, 4.41 in the 40 (combine timed)...SW Onslow High School...Jacksonville, NC

Offers...East Carolina...Schools...UNC, East Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Marshall...Leader...UNC

Notes...Very solid athlete that will likely end up on some division one school's roster if grades are okay. Has good size and decent speed to match and could ultimately become a DB prospect down the road. Didn't have monster stats last year but could develop into a good player.

NC State connection...The Wolfpack's interest level appears to be low.

46. ATH Dion McNair...5-11, 200 pounds, 4.35 in the 40 (combine timed)...Randleman (NC) High School

Offers...None...Schools...UNC, NC State, South Carolina...Leader...NC State

Notes...McNair is a prospect that we really like but he's somewhat of an unknown due to missing the vast majority of the 2004 season. His size and speed are legitimate and could evolve into a serious contender for a division one scholarship with a successful senior season.

NC State connection...NC State is recruiting but, like most other schools, will likely see how he progresses during his senior season before ramping up their interest. McNair attended the spring game.

45. LB Mario Brown...5-11, 200 pounds, 4.54 in the 40 (combine timed)...Greene Central High School, Snow Hill, NC

Offers...None...Schools...UNC, East Carolina, NC State and Virginia...Leader...None

Notes...Like McNair, Brown heads into his season having played an abbreviated schedule in 2004 due to injury. He needs to get bigger but, if he can, and maintain his speed, could get some serious interest later in the year. He more than held his own against some of NC's best at the "invitation-only" combine held at UNC earlier this year.

NC State connection...The Wolfpack is recruiting and needs LB's but will likely evaluate Brown into his senior season.

44. OL Pierre Andrews...6-2, 286 pounds, 5.68 in the 40 (combine timed)...Independence High School, Charlotte, NC

Offers...LSU...Schools...Virginia Tech, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee...Leader...None

Notes...One of NC's better OL prospects but, despite camping at numerous schools, has been unable to garner any additional offers. It also appears most of the in-state schools are taking a wait and see approach as well. Toughness and speed may be somewhat of a concern.

NC State connection....NC State interest level appears to be fairly low at the current time.

43. QB Kevin Atkins...6-0, 210 pounds, 4.72 in the 40 (combine timed)...S Durham (NC) High School

Offers...None...Schools...NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke...Leader...NC State

Notes...Atkins is a raw QB prospect that has spear-headed a primarily run-based offense in the past. A lefty, Atkins does well throwing on the run and has solid arm strength. Not likely to be a headliner but could emerge as a solid No. 2 QB who would be given the opportunity to work his way up.

NC State connection...Pack is keeping a close eye on Atkins.

42. LB Matt Woodlief...5-10, 230 pounds, 4.79 in the 40 (combine timed)...Bandys High School, Catawba, NC

Offers...Wake Forest...Schools...Committed to Wake Forest on July 18

Notes...Woodlief is a fireplug of a prospect and a prototypical middle linebacker. Exactly the type of prospect that Deacon head coach Jim Grobe has seemed to thrive with at Wake Forest. Lack of speed has kept Woodlief from moving higher up the chart.

NC State connection...NC State never seriously pursued Woodlief.

41. S Jared Mitchell...6-2, 180 pounds, 4.46 in the 40 (combine timed)...Hillside High School, Durham, NC

Offers...None...Schools...NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest, UNC, Duke...Leader...None

Notes...Hillside High School seems to have several college prospects and Mitchell may be the best of the 06 class. Mitchell has the frame, cover skills and speed to earn several scholarship offers before all is said and done. We really liked his upside and think he'll definitely be on someone's roster next fall, assuming his academics are in order.

NC State connection...Mitchell camped at State over the summer and should return for some games this fall. An offer from the Pack is a definite possibility down the road.
