Fidler on the cusp?

Henderson (Ky.) Co. quarterback Will Fidler (6'4, 200, 4.8) is one of the top quarterback prospects in the state of Kentucky this year, yet has seen his stock remain stagnant after receiving two quick scholarship offers from Western Michigan and Kentucky in the early contact period.

"I'd say Kentucky's my favorite because they've offered me," Will Fidler stated. "I'm not gonna decide soon though, because I wanna see who else offers me. I like UK and have always grown up watching them, but I am too unsure to make a decision."

The Wildcats have company for the talented gunslinger's services, as NC State, Notre Dame, Purdue and Alabama continue to sit on the horizon.

"NC State has started recruiting me really hard," Fidler said. "I decided to go ahead and take an unofficial visit there a couple weeks ago and check out the school for myself and ask some more questions to the head coaches."

The Wolfpack's offense would definitely fit the record breaking pro-style passer well.

"They certainly have a lot to offer," Fidler explained. "Their system is a lot like the one we have here at Henderson. They throw from the shotgun a lot and they have different varieties of sets. I also like their quarterbacks coach. He's coached in the NFL for a long time and he's a really smart guy, whom I think I can learn a lot from."

The record breaking gunslinger threw for over 4,000 yards a year ago, while also throwing 40 touchdown passes in a primarily spread offense. He's highly regarded because of his tremendous arm strength and his quarterbacking knowledge. Both of which are superior for a high school junior.

"(NC State) told me they are still evaluating their quarterbacks, but that I was in the top group of the ones they were thinking about offering," Fidler said about the possibilities of an offer. "Alabama and Purdue are pretty much telling me the same stuff that NC State is saying about an offer as well."
