"Recruiting is going fine," Fidler said. "I've got a couple of offers and right now I'm just waiting to see what all happens."
Fidler and fellow Kentucky prep quarterback Justin Burke are considered the top signal-callers in the state this year, and Burke is likely to announce his decision this week. Like Fidler, Burke claims an offer from Kentucky and also has NC State among his finalists. Where does Fidler believe Burke will choose this Friday?
"I really don't know, but if I had to take an honest guess I would say Burke picks NC State," Fidler said. "I think it's a good fit. To be honest, I just think he would fit in there. It is a good offense with a great staff and so obviously NC State is attractive."
Fidler, a three-star prospect who passed for 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns while earning 4-A state player of the year honors in 2004, admits that although both prospects have a similiar list, Burke's choice will not impact his decision.
"I don't think it will matter to me much," Fidler said. "I'm a competitor, so I'm going to go wherever I want to go... it doesn't matter who else is there."
Kentucky remains the favorite for Fidler, who grew up a Wildcat fan. The SEC program has been on him for a long time and were the first to offer.
Could a decision be on the horizon for Fidler?
"Well, I think I might be ready to decide before the season," he said. "I'm just sitting back right now and watching to see what happens with NC State. They have been recruiting me hard, and I think they have a lot to offer."
