"We've started off good, we're 2-0 right now," Aleric Mullins told Pack Pride. "We have a tough game this week against Middle Creek. In the first game I had 12 tackles, seven for a loss, and a sack.
"Last Friday I played more offense than defense. I played fullback and I had a sack on defense but it was called back because of a facemask."
Mullins, who has already fielded calls this month from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Auburn, NC State, and North Carolina among others, made the short trip to Raleigh for the Wolfpack's season opener against Virginia Tech.
"I was at the NC State and Virginia Tech game," Mullins said. "I had a chance to go on the field and watch the game as a spectator too. It was fun. That was a good game."
Mullins has already set his first official visit and plans to schedule four others in the near future.
"My first official is set up with Oklahoma on the 26th of November," he said. "I believe they play Oklahoma State that weekend. But, that trip may get moved back depending on how far we're in the playoffs.
"Right now I'm going to have to wait and see about the others. I jumped on that one because I've wanted to visit Oklahoma and when coach Wilson called we set that up."
The four-star prospect thinks highly of both in-state programs, NC State and North Carolina.
"UNC has got a real good coaching staff and are hands-on with the players and recruits," Mullins said. "I've had a chance to talk with coach Bunting and coach Browning, and I like them."
"At State the atmosphere is great," he added. "I haven't had a chance to see all of the campus yet, but I talked with coach Stroud and I liked talking with him."
Mullins admitted that he is in no hurry to make a decision and will likely do so closer to signing day. He also pointed out that he could take a few more unofficial visits during the football season.
"I might go try and catch the Auburn-Alabama game, the coaches mentioned that game to me," Mullins said. "I also may go see a Tennessee game."
