Pack Pride takes a look back at how several of NC State's top targets fared this past weekend.

- NC State commit Nathan Franklin was 4-of-5 on extra points and kicked a 20-yard FG in a 37-3 win over Lumberton.

- Norman Whitley of Richmond County rushed 19 times for 113 yards and one score in a 42-6 win over Purnell Swett.

- Cary running back Josh Adams carried the ball 23 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns against SE Raleigh.

- Raleigh (NC) defensive tackle Gavin Smith, NC State's first commitment in the class of 2006, has spearheaded a defensive unit at Wakefield High that's been one of the state's best. The Warriors received another strong effort from Smith and company on Friday night, as they recorded eight sacks and held Clayton High School scoreless in a 35-0 victory.

- Harnett Central QB Rodney Cox (junior) rushed for 245 yards on 12 carries for 4 touchdowns. He also passed for 146 yards and another score. Running back Kevin Snelling (junior) rushed 12 times for 162 yards with touchdown runs of 53 and 35 yards.

- Wolfpack kicker commitment Josh Czajkowski converted both extra points for West Springfield in a 21-14 season-opening loss to Stone Bridge High School.

- Wide receiver LaMarcus Bond from Hertford County had a touchdown run of 46 yards and a touchdown reception of 25 yards in a 16-13 loss to Northern Nash.

- NC State commit quarterback Justin Burke was 14-of-26 for 339 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-42 victory.

- Palm Beach Gardens (FL) linebacker Emmanuel Cook rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Boca High School. He also blocked a punt.

- Highland Springs linebacker Jarrell Miller had 12 tackles in a 12-10 win.

- Northeastern WR Javon Brumsey had a 9-yard TD reception in a win over Pasquotank.

- Defensive back Rico Bell from Vance High School had three interceptions and caught a two point conversion in a 50-24 victory over Harding High School.

- Nease High School wideout Ryan Ellis had five receptions for 117 yards in a 40-0 win over Seminole High School.

- Wide receiver Griff Yancey from Hermitage High School had five receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown, rushed for a touchdown and had an interception in a 28-7 win.
