N.C. State football coach Chuck Amato says he's receptive to any and all ideas. "Can you help me?" he said. "Give me a suggestion. E-mail me. I'm open. I don't have all the answers." Amato made that mock plea Sunday after the Pack's 20-16 loss to Virginia Tech in its opener, after being asked about the Wolfpack's 12 penalties for 105 yards. State spent much of spring and fall practices trying to solve the problem of penalties, especially those Amato terms "silly" -- personal fouls, illegal formations, blocks in the back, late hits.
