Toney Baker impressed in his first start Saturday night. It wasn't enough for N.C. State head coach Chuck Amato to make a snap decision following a 54-10 romp over 1-AA Eastern Kentucky and declare Baker the starter over four other backs for this week's showdown against North Carolina. "It will be whomever the psychic tells me to start," Amato said. Baker did nothing to hurt his cause, exploding for 85 yards on six carries and three touchdowns in less than a quarter of action in his second game. He was clearly the most effective runner as Amato stuck with his plan to give five backs a chance to show what they could do. Despite his limited playing time, Baker still led Wolfpack in rushing.
