Pack Prospects In Action

Pack Pride takes a quick look at how several of NC State's top targets performed in games from this past week.

- Hertford County RB/WR LaMarcus Bond was moved to quarterback after an injury to starter Danny Demby. Bond finished the game with 137 yards rushing on 26 carries, including a one-yard touchdown run against Edenton-Holmes. He also recorded his third punt return touchdown of the year when he went 65 yards for a score. NC State coach Manny Diaz was in attendance at the game.

- Cary tailback Josh Adams rushed 20 times for 276 yards and three scores in a win over Athens Drive.

- Quarterback Rodney Cox (junior) from Harnett Central rushed for 147 yards and had scoring runs of 31 and 14 yards in a win over Western Harnett. Cox also completed three-of-five passes for 40 yards.

- Southern Durham quarterback Kevin Atkins completed 14-of-25 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-33 win over Jordan.

- Randleman tailback Dion McNair had a spectacular game, accounting for 26 of the team's 28 points in a loss to Northwood High School. McNair rushed for 163 yards on 27 carries. He had three touchdown runs of 5, 5 and 14 yards. He also threw a 23-yard pass for a touchdown and had a two point conversion run. McNair also had two receptions for 11 yards.

- Lexington Catholic quarterback Justin Burke completed 15-of-20 passes for 263 yards and six touchdowns in a win over East Jassamine. On the season, Burke has completed 106-of-178 passes (60%) for 1,720 yards and 31 TD's versus just two INT's.

- NC State commit Nathan Franklin from Hoggard High School was 5-for-5 on extra point kicks in a win over Laney High School.

- Palm Beach Gardens fullback Emmanuel Cook rushed for 257 yards on 37 carries and two scores in a 24-15 loss to Vero Beach.

- EE Smith RB Carter Sharpe (junior) rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries in a win over Terry Sanford.

- With NC State coach Greg Williams in the stands, North Brunswick completed just three passes, all of them to wide receiver Owen Spencer totaling 20 yards and one touchdown in a win over East Columbus.

- NC State linebacker target John Ware rushed 175 yards and two touchdowns, including a 72-yard scoring run in a win over Pompano Beach.

- NC State baseball commit Wade Moore from West Rowan High School rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Lake Norman.

- Wideout Griff Yancey from Hermitage High School had a 29-yard touchdown reception and a 19-yard scoring run in a win over JR Tucker.

- DeLand wide receiver Johnny Patrick scored three touchdowns, including a 50-yard touchdown reception in a victory over Deltona.
