There was a big-game atmosphere in the minutes before Thursday night's Textile Bowl between State and Clemson. But then the game began. For those who wandered in wondering just how good N.C. State can be this year, the answer came quickly. Not very. A very average Clemson team had its way with the Wolfpack, stunning a smattering of booing fans 31-10 in a game that was over in the second quarter. That was when Clemson players turned to the Tiger Band and began conducting songs. The rest of the game was a clinic conducted by the Clemson coaches. A series of simple slants and runs into the center of the State defense confused the Wolfpack brain trust and the Wolfpack linebackers. Read More
