Wolfpack's Stone poised to take the next step

N.C. State football coach Chuck Amato knew Marcus Stone had a strong arm and that the sophomore quarterback could run. But what Amato wasn't sure about until last Saturday afternoon was Stone's poise. The 6-foot-4, 234-pounder wiped away Amato's concern with his performance in the Wolfpack's 21-17 comeback victory against Southern Mississippi at Carter-Finley Stadium. Stone, after going 1-for-9 and being intercepted twice in the first half, bounced back to complete 4 of 6 throws on N.C. State's first touchdown drive.
