    Scouting Report: (TSW Staff)
Hot News is reporting that a member of the NC State coaching staff is in Louisiana today visiting with Point Guard Jay Jackson. Head Coach Herb Sendek evaluated Jay last week while at the Kingwood Classic.

Jay kicked up his game this year and increased his scoring average from 15 ppg to 25 ppg while leading Ouachita (36-2) to a District 2-5A championship. In a recent interview with the New-Star, Ouachita Head Coach described the increase in Jay's scoring efficiency. "His game this year, he was more aggressive with the ball. Last year, he wasn't as strong finishing around the basket. He has been working in the weight room, putting on pounds and now he finishes and gets the three-point play."

Jackson has also developed into a leader both on and off the court. "He has a great character, first, off the court," Jones said. "He is a quality young man. He takes care of business in the classroom and he works hard in practice. He's a quiet leader, he leads by example. He doesn't talk a whole lot. I want him to talk more, but on the court and by his actions, he's the most consistent player."

Jay has also improved on defense this year. He has increased his numbers in rebounding as well as steals.
