Three at the Top for DE Marcus Anthony

Marcus Anthony had previously been an NC State lean. Has his stance softened and where does the Pack stand currently? We've got the latest.

Back in September it looked like defensive end Marcus Anthony was NC State's to lose. While the Pack remains in his top three, things have evened out.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, VA is now considering NC State, Boston College and Virginia Tech.

"I'd say those three are about even right now. I really like the atmosphere at NC State. I went down there for the Virginia Tech game and enjoyed it a lot. They have great fans. I like Virginia Tech because of the atmosphere too. Staying in-state would be pretty nice, so that's where I would go if I choose to do that.

"I really don't know too much about Boston College, but I know they have a good defense and put guys into the NFL. I've heard they have a great defensive coordinator."

All three of his favorites have offered, and each school is recruiting him as a defensive end. He has spent time at tight end, but thinks his potential lies on the line.

"I've got a lot of explosiveness on the line," he said. "My speed allows me to get offensive linemen to lose their balance and I can really disrupt things. I've got a good first step, which helps me a lot in pass rushing."

While he hasn't planned any official visits yet, Anthony says he will take trips to each of his three favorites.
