N.C. State had to come a long way -- from 2-4 to 6-5 -- just to become bowl eligible. Now that the Wolfpack has finally reached this stage, where does it go from here? Charlotte? Boise? Nashville? Maybe even San Francisco? The answer may lie in ... Orlando. The new structure of the ACC, with its title game still to be played and with a new member -- Boston College -- from the northeast, has complicated things and has left schools like N.C. This Challenge - not so 'Big'

The wrong "Big" conference is challenging the ACC this week. With the ACC-Big Ten Challenge beginning when Virginia Tech visits Ohio State today, imagine how good an ACC-Big East Challenge would be. After the most recent round of expansions, the ACC and Big East clearly have the best basketball conferences in the nation. The past five NCAA champions have come from those conferences, and this week would be a lot better if Duke-Connecticut, Wake Forest-Louisville and a North Carolina-Villanova rematch from last season were among the offerings.
