"Right now, I have a visit set up for December 2nd to Syracuse, one set for Georgia Tech December 10th, one to West Virginia the 14th (of January), and NC State most likely the 21st and 22nd," Neild said add that unless he picks up another offer those are the final four schools. "I do have some interest in Penn State, but I haven't received an offer from them yet. If they offered, I would really want to take a visit there."
At 6-foot-3, 294 pounds and playing linebacker in college, Neild is an interesting prospect for the next level, and it seems every school wants him to play a different spot.
"Each team seems to have taken a liking to me at different positions, like as a tight end or linebacker. Georgia Tech and West Virginia want me for defensive line, Syracuse as a center or a short-yardage fullback, so I like that.
"Anything that can get me playing time would be good, but I like the defensive side of the ball. Linebacker would be good, but with my size they would probably put me on the line. NC State says I can play linebacker, and it could put them ahead of the others. There are a lot of upperclassmen there, and if I worked hard I could play early."
Stroudsburg finished the year 8-4, though Neild says it finished much better than the record reveals.
"We just had a game on Thanksgiving that we play every year against our rivals East Stroudsburg South. The away team, if they win, they walk home, and we walked home. It is about three miles from the stadium, and it is not just us that walks, it is the team, the fans at the game, and we just walk down the street with people waving at us. It is a pretty amazing experience."
