Lexington (Ky) Catholic High School quarterback kand NC State commitment Justin Burke capped off a stellar prep career with a state championship on Saturday.

Named the Gatorade state player of the year as well as runner-up for Kentucky's Mr. Football this past week, Burke completed 15-of-27 passes for 221 yards and had a two-yard touchdown run in the Knight's 49-21 victory over Bowling Green.

On the season Burke completed 225-of-365 passes for 3,789 yards and 62 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions. He also rushed for an additional seven touchdowns. Burke doubled as the team's punter and averaged 40.3 yards per kick.

BURKE ON BURKE: "My cerebral approach and my footwork are my strengths. I can run if I need to. People say I am more of a pocket passer, but once again, I can run when I have to. I have no problem doing that. But I would say my decision making, footwork, and accuracy are my strengths."
