Wolfpack Lands Commitment

NC State hosted 13 visitors this weekend, and secured a verbal from a sleeper prospect who hails from one of Florida's finest prep football programs.

Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna star Jordan Delegal has committed to NC State.

"The visit was real good," Delegal said. "They treated me like they were suppose to. It was a family atmosphere. Because of that, I decided to commit to them.

"When I got to the airport I just felt like that was where I wanted to be. I had the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin wanting me to go up there, but I decided to commit to NC State. I called the coaches and they were happy about it."

Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, NC State, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Northwestern had extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back, but he chose to verbal to the Wolfpack.

"I had narrowed my list down to NC State, Wisconsin, and Iowa," Delegal said. "But I fell in love with NC State. I won't be taking those other visits."

Team co-captain and defensive captain for Chaminade-Madonna Prep's 2005 state championship team, Delegal tallied 75 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries during his senior season.

Delegal is the ninth known commitment in NC State's '06 recruiting class, and we will have much more on his commitment tomorrow so stay tuned!
