Tight end John Lubischer is one of the Pack's top remaining targets, and the senior at Boca Raton High School in Florida was in Raleigh for an official visit over the weekend.
The previous week the 6-4, 255-pound tight end took an official visit to Colorado State. On Jan. 13 Lubischer will take an official to Duke, and he may take another to Ole Miss on Jan. 20.
"I had a really good time at NC State," said Lubischer. "We were doing something just about the entire time I was there. Right when we got off the plane they had a coach there that took us out to dinner at a restaurant. Then I hung out with my host, Mike Greco, the rest of the night.
"That next morning we got up pretty early and took a few tours. We toured the academic buildings and saw what the school itself had to offer. Then we went out and toured the football facilities. I had a good time up there."
Lubischer's three favorites at this point in the recruiting process are NC State, Colorado State and Duke. When he makes his decision will hinge on whether he decides to take an official visit to Ole Miss. While some schools had mentioned the possibility of Lubischer playing offensive line, the Pack likes him as a tight end.
"I'm pretty sure they offered me because they want me to play tight end for them. I've got good size and blocking ability for a tight end, but I also have pretty soft hands and can make catches downfield."
