Bowl Notes: Pack Has 'Awful' Morning Practice

RALEIGH, NC -- NC State head coach Chuck Amato met the media today following practice and Pack Pride also caught up with defensive line coach Todd Stroud to discuss the status of John McCargo.

Chuck Amato (2:48)

"It was awful... period. Why are people awful? When you write a bad story why was it awful?"

"I don't think any of them need to be talked to today because they don't deserve to be talked to. That was awful. You guys, let me excuse you. I don't normally do this, but I don't want them thinking they can do that and come off and get what you want."

Todd Stroud (3:36)

"Today was his first day back out in a full practice mode where he got out there and banged around a little bit. He's out of shape, he's gained about 14 pounds that we've got to get off of him."

"He's done a good job during this season of keeping his weight down."

"He's just in the starting stages right now, and he'll have through Thursday."

"We're hoping he can take a few snaps in the game. I think it is important to John to be able to do that because I think he was having a great year."
