"I decided on NC State," Everett said. "I made up my mind on where I would fit in the best. I did it not too long ago actually.
"Coach Dixon came down to see me this evening and I committed to him. It feels great to get my recruitment out the way."
Everett, a 6-2, 185-pound wideout with 4.45-second speed in the 40-yard dash was all but unstoppable during his senior year. The talented prospect finished the year with 66 receptions for 1,280 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed for better than 200 yards on 33 rushing attempts and helped lead his Sumter squad to the state 2A championship game against perennial power Hollywood-Chaminade.
NC State and Miami were the final two schools. He said his family, which includes Univ. of Florida linebacker Earl Everett, is happy he's going to NC State.
"They are happy for me," Everett said. "A lot of them were rooting for me to go up there so it's good.
"NC State is building a strong program, and I want to help them take it to the next level."
