Offensive tackle Billy Cuffee has already taken official visits to Virginia and Maryland, and he has visits to NC State and East Carolina lined up.
The 6-5, 310-pound mammoth tackle from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, VA said he enjoyed both officials he's taken, but wants to see what other schools have to offer before he makes his decision.
"I had a great time at Virginia and Maryland, but I'm not ready to make a decision yet. I'd say my top five would be those two, NC State, Virginia Tech and ECU. I have offers from NC State, East Carolina and Maryland. Virginia and Virginia Tech told me that they would offer if I got a qualifying score on the ACT. I'm confident that I'm going to be qualified."
Cuffee plans on visiting East Carolina on January 7 and NC State on January 14. Cuffee has flown under the radar thus far – perhaps because of the academic situation – but there is no denying his ability.
"Almost every coach I talk to tells me that they love my athleticism. I think my agility and quickness, along with my size, set me apart from most other offensive linemen."
NC State's location is a draw for Cuffee, but that shouldn't be much of an issue, as he's not far from any of the schools he's looking at. He sees big things in store for the Pack down the road.
"I think they've already established themselves as a solid program," said Cuffee. "But they have a lot of potential that they haven't reached yet. They have a lot of talent, and I see them doing big things in the next few years."
Cuffee would like to wait to make his decision until after his officials are completed, but said he will make his choice whenever he knows where he should be.
