Bond's primary recruiter for NC State had been Manny Diaz, but Diaz is now the defensive coordinator at Middle Tennesse State. Will that hamper the Wolfpack's chances with the three-star prospect?
"No," said Bond. "Coach Cignetti came here, and I like him. I still like State a lot."
This weekend he will take an official visit to East Carolina and has a trip to Virginia planned for later this month. Despite the planned trip to Virginia, Bond said a decision may come shortly.
"Soon," he said. "It's going to be soon. It could be after I get back from ECU."
Bond claims to be wide open and is not ready to name a leader.
A versatile athlete, Bond is one of the premier prospects in the state of North Carolina. As a senior, he was a dominant force on both sides of the ball as well as on special teams. At cornerback, Bond intercepted nine passes, returning three for touchdowns. On offense, where he plays slotback, he scored 16 rushing and two receiving touchdowns. He also added five punt return touchdowns and two kick return scores.
Bond Quotable: "I just like to make plays. Colleges are recruiting me at wide receiver, and that's where I want to play. I want the ball in my hands."
Coach's Comment: "He can do just about anything. He's very dangerous when he gets the ball in his hands, he catches really well, he's an excellent return guy, but his open field running ability might be the best that I've ever seen. He's very elusive, and has great change of direction." -- Hertford County Head Coach Greg Watford
