Defensive tackle Abre Leggins is one of the top remaining line prospects on the board for NC State, but the Pack has a lot of ground to make up in the last few weeks of the recruiting season.
The 6-4, 270-pound prospect from Evans High School in Orlando, FL has a clear leader, and it's not the Pack. That doesn't mean things won't change though.
"Memphis is definitely my top choice right now. In a way I feel like a part of the program already, even though I haven't committed. I've just been treated so well by their coaches and everyone involved in the program. I can't comment too much on the school itself yet, but I have an official visit there soon.
"They are my favorite right now, but that could change. I still have to visit Florida International, and I might visit NC State and Georgia. Anything can happen. I still have about three weeks to make a decision."
Leggins plans on taking his official to FIU this weekend, and he'll be at Memphis during the weekend of January 20.
"I'm going to try to set up officials to NC State and Georgia, because they both have great programs. State has offered but Georgia hasn't yet. I'm not sure how the scheduling and everything would work out, but if I can get to either one of those schools I'd like to do it."
Leggins is being recruited by each of those four schools – Memphis, FIU, NC State and Georgia – to play defensive tackle at the next level. When asked to point out the strengths in his game, he mentioned his ability to fill gaps, his quickness when the ball is snapped, and his ability to get to the quarterback. He plans on making a decision the week before National Signing Day.
