Cook: 'I Liked Everything About It'

Palm Beach Gardens (FL) athlete Emanuel Cook has already visited Mississippi and Rutgers, and NC State hosted the three-star prospect this weekend.

"It went great," Emanuel Cook said of the visit. "I liked everything about it. The facilities, the atmosphere... it all was great.

"I was hanging out with Willie Young, and we definitely had a good time. He told me if I come there that you've got to work hard. It's not easy, and it's a good program."

Cook starred at running back and linebacker for Palm Beach Gardens High School, where he led the Gators to the state title. What position is NC State recruiting him to play?

"They want me at 'WIL' linebacker," Cook said. "They said Stephen Tulloch is going to the league, and that position is open. I'd have to work hard, but I would get a chance to play early. I'd like my chances to start though."

Before leaving Raleigh, Cook had a chance to talk with NC State head coach Chuck Amato.

"I like coach Amato," he said. "He's cool. He's a lot of fun at times, but he'll get on you when he needs to. I think he's a good coach."

Despite the terrific job of hosting Cook, NC State apparently was not able to overcome the lead Rutgers has built in his recruitment.

"I'd say Rutgers is still my leader," Cook said. "I think I'd have a chance to start there more than anywhere."

NC State head coach Chuck Amato still has his in-home visit left with Cook and will likely do so closer to signing day, as that is when the three-star prospect plans on announcing his decision.

"I'm going to wait until signing day," said Cook. "I still have the visits with South Carolina and Minnesota left."
