Scouting Report - April 4, 2002: (Jerry Cornwell * The Strutting Wolf)
Sean Banks is a player who's stock is on the rise. He played in Bob Gibbon's Tournament of Champions where his team won the National Division and he received the tourney MVP. He averaged 16.7 points per game but had a big semi-final game leading his Playaz Gold team with 28 points in a victory over the New Orleans Jazz 88-83. TSW caught up with the hot forward to talk about his game and his recruitment.

The Insiders has Sean listed at 6'6" 190 with a note that he had grown 2" since his sophomore year. We will need to update again, because Sean is now up to 6'8" and 198 pounds but he intends to stay on the wing. "I am still growing and I am close to 200 pounds." Banks said "I do have to play the 4 spot on my school team but on my AAU team I play strictly 3 which is where I feel the most comfortable."

The growth spurt has not hampered his game. He is one of the most versatile big men in the class of 2003. Sean told us this about his game, "We do not have a true PG on Playaz so we all take turns bringing the ball up the court. My strength as a player is my ability to handle the ball."

Banks is noted for his scoring as well, where he can make shots on the move and has range to the arc. Sean said "My shots are going in right now but I continue to work hard at getting better."

Banks has standing offers from Pitt, Maryland, Memphis and UMass. "Maryland and Pitt are my leaders right now" Banks stated, "But I am still keeping my options open. I hope to make my decision by the end of summer before school starts."
