"Coach Cullison told the Wake Forest coaches that I'm going to NC State. It was all left it up to me. Nobody was pressuring me to pick any school, they just left it up to me and that's where I wanted to go."
Hailing from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida, Williams was recently named the No. 25 player in Florida by the Orlando Sentinel. He was also accorded all-state honors for both basketball and football, was an all-county and all-Central Florida selection as well as being named district MVP. Williams was also selected to the North vs. South and Central Florida all-star events after recording nearly 70 catches and 10 touchdowns as a senior.
"He's got a great work ethic," said Jones High head coach Mike Cullison. "He's such a great athlete. Cincinnati actually said he could play football and basketball, he's that good of an athlete.
"He's a very aggressive kid. He'll block, and he's got everything you're looking for in a wide receiver. Barring injury, I really think he's going to make it to the league."
Williams had tallied offers from NC State, Boston College Houston, Wake Forest, East Carolina, and Cincinnati prior to narrowing his list down to the Wolfpack and Demon Deacons.
Williams is the 18th known NC State commitment in the Class of 2006.
